For molecular diagnostics of lung cancer samples, often only a small amount material is available. The ever-increasing number biomarker testing in contrast to the obtained. In that case, cytological specimens, such as serous effusion are one possible option. Effusion samples were prepared sediment smears or cytospins cell block if needed. Suitable tumor cells areas marked by cytopathologist and used for diagnostics, including fast track analysis, parallel sequencing, and/or fluorescence situ hybridization. 62 cases malignant with pulmonary adenocarcinoma, carried out.
